Steam Next Fest: 6pm WAT

Updated 27 October 2026: October’s Steam Next Fest ended at 6pm WAT on 26 October. This festival window has closed. Check each developer’s store page separately: a demo remaining available after the festival is not guaranteed.

Nigerian PC players had a week to explore upcoming games through Steam Next Fest, which ran from 6pm WAT on Monday, 19 October to 6pm WAT on 26 October. Valve’s published window is 10am Pacific on both dates; Lagos is eight hours ahead.

The festival centred on publicly playable demos, with developer livestreams available separately. It offered a chance to test a game before making a purchase—not a promise that its finished version will be free.

Make the download count

Start with your PC’s specifications and the demo’s requirements. Check the actual download size and available storage before using a metered connection. A short list of games you genuinely want to try is more useful than downloading every attractive trailer.

Treat a demo as a sample of a work in progress. Its performance, content and save-transfer arrangements may differ from the finished release; read each developer’s own notes rather than assuming progress will carry over.

For Nigerian developers following the event, October’s registration deadline was 31 August. This is not a fresh application window. Valve lists February 2027 as the next edition; use the relevant future-edition rules before planning a showcase.

For players who tried a demo, the next step is to compare how upcoming games actually feel on your own machine, give useful feedback where invited and wishlist the projects you want to follow. You do not need to buy a game to decide whether its demo deserves your time.
