Steam Adds Wishlist Categories, Demo Alerts and Easier Game Gifting
Valve has rolled out a set of Steam updates that make wishlists easier to organise and game gifting less dependent on friend lists.
Players can now sort saved games into their own categories, use improved search and choose which wishlist events should trigger notifications. Steam has also added demo-release alerts, microtrailers and shareable filtered wishlist links.
The gifting change is especially practical: a buyer can use guest checkout and send a game to an email address without first adding the recipient as a Steam friend. Regional restrictions still apply, so a gift must remain compatible with the receiver's Steam region.
For Nigerian PC players, categories such as low-spec picks, controller-friendly games, co-op titles and sale watch can turn a long wishlist into something useful. Email gifting may also help families and friends who want to buy a game for someone without navigating Steam's friend-request process. Buyers should still confirm that their payment method works and that the title is available in Nigeria before checking out.
For PC cafes and sellers, filtered lists can become shareable recommendations for popular multiplayer games or hardware-friendly titles.
