Lagos AI and XR Bootcamp Opens Three Cohorts and a Nigeria-Wide Online Track
Young Nigerians interested in artificial intelligence, content production and virtual reality have three summer windows to join IMMERSIA's 2026 AI and XR Summer Tech Bootcamp.
The organiser lists three two-week cohorts for participants aged 10 to 17:
- Cohort 1: 27 July to 7 August 2026
- Cohort 2: 10 to 21 August 2026
- Cohort 3: 24 August to 4 September 2026
Each cohort runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The in-person programme is based on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street in Surulere, Lagos, while a live online track is available to families elsewhere in Nigeria.
What participants will study
IMMERSIA says the full Lagos programme covers AI-assisted coding, entrepreneurship and pitching, content creation, 3D character and VR-world creation, plus a choice between robotics and AI-assisted music production.
The online option is narrower. It includes three live courses: AI-assisted coding, content creation, and 3D and VR creation. Remote participants do not join the physical side activities or the in-person Demo Day.
For the VR and gaming community, the practical value is the shift from using immersive technology to building with it. Students are expected to create digital projects and a portfolio rather than only attend demonstrations. How much a participant completes will still depend on attendance, available equipment and the organiser's delivery.
Fees and additional costs
The organiser currently lists the in-person programme at N200,000 and the online track at N50,000.
IMMERSIA also lists an optional robotics and embedded-systems elective at an additional N25,000 for in-person participants. The equivalent remote elective is listed at N35,000 and includes delivery of a hardware kit within Nigeria. Optional laptop rental for the Lagos programme is listed at N20,000.
The published payment plan requires a N75,000 deposit for the in-person programme, with the balance due two weeks before the selected cohort. The organiser states that payments are non-refundable, so parents should read the current terms before paying.
What families should confirm
Before registering, parents should confirm that their preferred cohort still has space, the precise venue and pickup procedure, laptop requirements, internet requirements for remote learning, safeguarding arrangements and every additional charge.
IMMERSIA advertises supervised VR games, football gaming, go-karting and table tennis as short daily side activities for in-person campers. These are organiser-provided programme descriptions, not independent NairaGame reviews.
