Paradox Gaming Wins Carry1st Africa Cup in Abuja as Nigerian Teams Bow Out
Updated 7 September 2026
Abuja hosted Africa’s decisive Call of Duty: Mobile showdown on 5–6 September, with Paradox Gaming beating Awuah Sports Gaming 4–1 in the Carry1st Africa Cup grand final. The champion earns Africa’s place at the 2026 COD Mobile World Championship.
Nigeria’s Eclipse Gaming fought back after an opening defeat, beating Mighty-Aura 3–1 and B34R CL4N 3–0 before Cyclone Esports ended its run. Fellow Nigerian finalist SYRIX Sierra 7 beat Echo 7 Gaming 3–0 in the lower bracket before also falling to Cyclone.
The eight-team final at Los Angeles Event Center in Wuse carried a US$30,000 total prize pool. That is the competition’s combined purse, not a confirmed winner’s payment.
For Nigeria’s mobile esports community, the weekend put two home teams on the same stage as continental rivals, with a World Championship place at stake on Nigerian soil. Carry1st’s official page carries the full bracket and broadcast links for fans and teams reviewing the matches.
