Battlefield 6 Season 4 Brings Naval Warfare to PC and Consoles
Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 4 are now live, moving the fight to the Pacific with the new Tsuru Reef map, naval vehicles, fresh weapons and a three-part content schedule that runs into September.
The season opened on 21 July with the Pacific Front update. Its centrepiece is Tsuru Reef, a large coastal battlefield built around infantry, armour, aircraft and boats. EA says the map is larger than Railway to Golmud and uses a dynamic wave system that changes how squads move through shallow water and shoreline positions.
Season 4 also adds the RCB-90 attack boat to Battlefield 6 multiplayer and brings the 7.7M NSW RHIB across from REDSEC. The launch weapon line-up includes the EF88 assault rifle, BROD 3 carbine and VSSM designated marksman rifle, alongside new attachments and a new Battle Pass.
Top Gun and Wake Island arrive in August
The second phase is scheduled for 18 August. EA plans to bring back Wake Island, add a limited-time Top Gun event, introduce Carrier Strike and Fighter Sweep modes, and expand the jet roster. Spectator mode and custom lobbies are also listed for this phase, which could make the update more useful to Nigerian tournament organisers and gaming communities running structured matches.
The final announced phase, Tidal Strike, is scheduled for 15 September. Live-service dates and content can change, so players and organisers should confirm the current in-game roadmap before advertising a tournament around an unreleased mode or map.
What Nigerian players and game cafes should do
This is a required seasonal update, not a small optional content pack. Nigerian PC players should check the final download size shown by their launcher, confirm available storage and schedule the update on a stable connection before joining a squad. Players using mobile data should avoid assuming that the advertised patch size is the total network cost, because file verification and additional language or high-resolution packs can add traffic.
Game cafes should update one machine first, test performance and controller or peripheral settings, then distribute the verified files across the rest of the local network where their launcher setup permits it. That reduces the risk of every station pulling the same large download over the public connection during paid sessions.
Operators planning community nights should also state whether Battlefield 6 multiplayer or free-to-play REDSEC is being used, which platform is required, whether cross-play is enabled, and whether participants need their own EA accounts. Custom lobbies and spectator tools are scheduled for the August phase, not the 21 July launch, so they should not be advertised as available until EA activates them.
EA says Game Update 1.4.1.0 also includes changes to water gameplay, movement, combat, vehicles, the user interface, audio, Portal creation and ranked battle royale. Players should review the official patch notes if a familiar weapon, vehicle or setting behaves differently after updating.
