Xbox Tests Digital Entitlements for Physical Discs From 31 August

Xbox Insiders can begin testing a new feature on 31 August that gives supported physical games a digital entitlement.

Players claim it by inserting an Xbox One or Xbox Series X disc into a compatible console and launching the game. The entitlement can then unlock Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming where those features are supported, while the physical disc continues to work.

Xbox says most disc-based Xbox One and Series X games are included, with thousands of titles at the start, but not every game will qualify.

For Nigerian players with mixed physical and digital libraries, the useful part is easier access across supported devices. Check the Insider rollout, title eligibility, account region and any subscription or cloud-availability requirement before relying on it.
