Niger Delta University Hosts Free Seven-Game Campus GameFest
Niger Delta University will host the next stop of the 10N8E GameFest campus tour on 29 and 30 September 2026, bringing a free multi-title gaming festival to students at the university’s Wilberforce Island campus in Bayelsa State.
The competition programme spans seven titles and formats: PUBG Mobile TDM, EA Sports FC, Call of Duty Mobile multiplayer, Free Fire TDM, Street Fighter, Just Dance and a fastest-lap racing challenge. Player caps range from 16 to 32, depending on the game, with elimination rounds and best-of-three finals used across several brackets.
Competition is reserved for Niger Delta University students, but the organiser says guests can attend and watch without paying an entry fee. Mobile competitors must bring their own devices and install the latest version of their chosen game before play.
That mix matters. GameFest is not built around a single esports title; it creates a campus entry point for mobile players, football-game competitors, fighting-game specialists, dancers and racing fans in one programme. For students outside Nigeria’s biggest commercial gaming hubs, the Bayelsa stop also offers a local stage on which skill, community and campus identity can meet.
The NDU event is part of a wider Nigerian university tour. After Bayelsa, 10N8E lists University of Uyo for 30–31 October, Imo State University for 13–14 November and Lagos State University for 4–5 December.
Students should check the official GameFest page for registration and format details before travelling. Guests may attend, but only students of the host institution can enter its competitions.
