Lagos Girls Play Forward Moves to 30 October, With Free Entry and ₦200,000 Prize Pool

Girls Play Forward 2026 has moved from 9 October to Friday, 30 October, giving girls and women in Lagos a new date for Carven and Females in Gaming Network’s gaming programme.

FIGN announced the change on 5 October. The event starts at 10am WAT at Carven Gaming Arena, Landmark Event Center, Lagos, with racing, dance and competitive gaming activities.

The linked registration form lists free entry and a current ₦200,000 prize pool. It says selected participants will receive invitations; applying does not guarantee a competition place. The organisers have not published a game-by-game prize split or a closing deadline.

Beyond competition, the programme introduces participants to gaming careers and connects women with a Nigerian community of players and creators. It is a practical local entry point into an industry whose opportunities extend beyond playing professionally.

Use the updated announcement and registration form before making plans: FIGN’s event webpage still displays the former 9 October date.

For anyone considering a gaming career, playing is only one route. Tournament operations, broadcasting, community management, design and content production all support the scene. Before registering, check which activities you want to join and watch for the invitation instructions. The published call does not identify individual game titles or competition formats.
