Ibadan’s Esports Circle Opens a Free Route Into the Business of Gaming
Gaming careers do not begin and end with winning tournaments. Esports Circle is bringing that conversation to Ibadan with a free session on the businesses and skills behind competitive gaming.
Its second community gathering, “Who’s Really Playing the Game? Inside the Esports Ecosystem”, takes place on Sunday, 20 September 2026 at Café One, The Palms Mall, Ring Road, Ibadan. The event window is 3pm–5pm WAT. Registration is required because spaces are limited.
The programme examines how publishers, tournament organisers, teams, sponsors and platforms earn revenue, and where people with creative, technical and commercial skills can contribute. Students, developers, content creators, designers and marketing professionals are among the audiences invited; no previous esports experience is required.
For Nigerians looking beyond the player’s seat, the session offers an introduction to the work that supports tournaments and gaming communities. It also puts Ibadan’s community in view of an industry too often discussed only through its biggest competitions. Attendance offers a chance to learn and connect, not a promise of employment or funding.
