Fans of Hogwarts Legacy finally have something more concrete to be excited about Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that a second installment of Hogwarts Legacy is in development.

The announcement is still extremely limited, however. Warner Bros. Discovery mentioned the second installment of Hogwarts Legacy” in its August 2026 shareholder letter, confirming that the game is part of the company's upcoming games pipeline. The company did not reveal the official title, release date, platforms or provide a trailer.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Is Officially Happening

The biggest development is that the sequel is no longer simply based on leaks and reports.

Warner Bros. Discovery has now put the second game on the record as part of its future games lineup. This follows earlier reports that a sequel was being developed and that Avalanche Software, the studio behind the original Hogwarts Legacy, was working on it.
