Fortnite's UEFN Adds AI Coding Tools, Touch Controls and Reusable Abilities
Fortnite Ecosystem v42.00 adds Unreal MCP to Unreal Editor for Fortnite, allowing compatible coding agents to work directly with a creator's project.
The local MCP server can expose tools for reading and writing Verse, placing and configuring Creative devices, creating Scene Graph entities, and starting or inspecting play sessions. Epic lists Claude Code, Codex and Cursor among compatible examples.
The same release moves tap-and-drag touch gestures out of Experimental status and introduces an experimental Ability System for reusable gameplay abilities in Verse.
For Nigerian creators building Fortnite islands, the practical starting point is to enable Python Editor Scripting and UEFN MCP Toolsets, keep the connection local, and review every generated change before publishing. Epic warns that experimental APIs may still change.
