Brackeys Game Jam Opens Global August Challenge to Nigerian Developers

Brackeys Game Jam 2026.2 will run from 23 August at 10:00 UTC to 30 August at 10:00 UTC. For developers in Nigeria, that is 11:00am WAT on both dates.

The global online jam is open to participants using any engine or framework, and teams are allowed. Entrants must build their game during the jam and submit it through itch.io before the deadline. The official rules prohibit AI-generated content and NSFW or offensive material.

This is a practical portfolio opportunity for Nigerian students, indie developers, artists, designers and audio creators. A small, finished game can demonstrate teamwork and production discipline more clearly than an unfinished large project. Teams should agree their scope early, keep source files organised and upload before the final hour because the organiser says there is no submission grace period.

Participation is free, but entrants need an itch.io account. Nigerian teams should also plan around power, internet access and build-upload size before the final day.
