August 2026 VR Release Watch: SlipVector's Region Split and SCP's PC VR Date

August's VR calendar already has two listings Nigerian players and VR venues should put on a watchlist, with one important warning: the store region on an account can change what is visible and when it can be bought.

SlipVector, a seated arcade racer with optional PlayStation VR2 support, is dated for the start of August on some European and South American PlayStation Store pages. The German page lists August 1, while the US listing still shows no confirmed release date at the time of checking.

That split matters in Nigeria, where many PlayStation users depend on foreign-region PSN accounts. Do not buy credit for SlipVector until the game appears with a price and release status on the same regional Store attached to your account. A date on a German page does not guarantee identical timing on US or UK accounts.

On PC, SCP: The Beginning is listed on Steam for August 18, 2026. Its store page identifies VR support and asks for 16 GB of RAM, 10 GB of storage and at least a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580. Store dates can still move, so venue operators should wait for the final build and headset compatibility reports before adding it to a commercial library.

For Nigerian VR arenas and game cafes, August planning should include more than buying the software. Check motion comfort, seated versus room-scale play, headset hygiene, session length, age guidance and whether the licence permits the intended venue use. Home players should also budget for downloads and leave storage space before release day.

NairaGame will keep this tracker open through August and update it when official Quest, PS VR2, SteamVR, Android XR, Vision Pro or Pico listings change.
